About Me

Links:

I come originally from dirty, impoverished, hostile, fundie-infested Chicago. ("The best that can be said about Scotland is that God created it for a purpose; but the same can be said of Hell" -- Dr. Samuel Johnson, I think. Applies to Chicago, too.)

I'm a survivor of severe childhood abuse, mostly from my legal "stepmother", Lorraine Jensen Weare, now living in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This has gifted me with a permanent hatred of unfairness, conservatism, and mean people in general.

I'm also a former journalist and current aspiring website designer who has finished courses at California State University, Long Beach (journalism major, computer sciences minor). Journalism training prepares students for a noble and honorable profession that, alas, no longer exists. Thus, I have left that profession and gone into web design instead.

I have a taste for the "dark-hued" -- when it comes to Goddess-worship, I'm drawn to the death and underworld Goddesses; when it comes to music, I prefer speed metal; when it comes to comic books, I prefer Sandman, the demise of which I consider one of the great tragedies of Western civilization. (However, I have found a partial substitute with Transmetropolitan.)

Be forewarned: I consider the Sixties a great and hopeful time in history, and sympathize with hippies and even more with the activists. If you feel the fashion of your own sad little subculture requires you to speak disparagingly of "hippie scum," please leave quietly and no one will get hurt!

I have no patience with the current fashion of whining about the evils of "political correctness" -- to me it's just the libertarian form of political correctness! I don't actually see anyone being oppressed by PC, but I've experienced a lot of repression and attempts at censorship for being "too PC".

Come to think of it, I have no patience with libertarians and other "angry white males," period.
